Sara Cassidy's poems and short stories have been published in The Malahat Review, Geist, Fiddlehead, Grain, Prairie Fire, ottawater, CV2, Barren Magazine, and other literary journals. Her feature articles, columns and reviews have appeared in such places as the Winnipeg Free Press, Halifax Chronicle Herald, Focus Magazine, and the Globe and Mail. A piece for Today's Parent won a National Magazine Award (Gold). Sara's 17 children's books include three Junior Library Guild selections and finalists for the Sheila A. Egoff Children's Literature Prize, the Chocolate Lily Award, the Bolen Books Children’s Book Prize, the Rocky Mountain Book Award, the Diamond Willow Award, the Ruth and Sylvia Schwartz Children’s Book Award, the Manitoba Young Readers’ Choice Award, and the Silver Birch Express Award, the Hackmatack Children's Choice Award and the Sunburst Award for Excellence in Canadian Literature of the Fantastic. Sara lives in Victoria, where she works full-time for the Ministry of Health in policy information and public engagement.
